What to do if you get a download error

If you have problems with the download, getting download error/error unknown, do the following:

a) Manually download the game.

Will put here the links of the patches: remember that you have to DOWNLOAD THEM ALL starting from your version (the game won't work if you just download the latest one).

1) VictoryInstaller_0.09.912

b) Please leave here a feedback: 'I solved my problems / I haven't solved my problems' so we can contact you back and ask for more informations.

when I download the game it says he have a Medium Virus and my antivirus delete it ......

and I wont dezactivate my antivirus because I dont know wath virus is.

Did you download it from the main site or one of the mirror sites?

What's brand is your antivirus (mcafee, norton, trend, avg, ...)?

Medium will be a level for what it detected - is there a name as well?

Can you calculate the md5 checksum of the downloaded file? You can use the File Checksum Integrity Verifier from microsoft to do it.

Ok, that's know as having a lot of false positives. It's norton's attempt at having the general public vote that a program is safe. If there's not enough people that have the program, it throws that.

Personally, I'd override that one since you downloaded it from the original developer and its still beta so there's not that many people playing and only a fraction of those will have nortons. There's instructions from symantec here - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Clarifica...

They also have some notes at the bottom for developers on how to reduce the occurances. It would be good if vae victus put the md5 for the installer on the download page as well.

Hola chicos queria comunicarme con usted porque he notado varias fallas en el juego y quisiera ver si se puede solucionar, mientras estoy jugando y corriendo con mi auto, se me tilda el juego o cuelga, como que estuviera fallando el servidor, sumado a eso estos ultimos dia me han salido carteles en la pantalla durante el juego diciendome "error" o que tengo que registrarme porque "estoy como indocumentado" no entiendo bien que quiere decir con ello.

Alexa te lo traduco al volo in italiano (in inglese ci mettevo il triplo..), se ancora interessa.

"Salve ragazzi, volevo mettermi in contatto con Voi perchè ho notato vari bug nel gioco e volevo vedere se si potevano risolvere. Mentre sto giocando e correndo con la mia auto mi si blocca il gioco, come se non funzionasse bene il server.

In più, oltre a questo, ultimamente sono apparsi messaggi a video, durante il gioco, con la scritta "errore" o che devo iscrivermi perche "sono non registrato". Non capisco bene cosa voglia dire.

It's still not clear what he is talking about. He should go into details and explain what kind of errors he gets, otherwise I doubt the staff could be of any help.

Ok, I copied the download error...

It comes out like this:

"An error occurred while loading the archive."

If I try to download any patch, that is the message I get. I hate this Archive Manager program. >:l What would any of you make of that? Anyways, in the meantime I will try M3Honsho's advice and dual boot.

Umm... the files are windows executables so linux archive managers is probably the wrong thing to do with it.

cannot down load manually get 404 error code. Also my norton virus software keeps interfearing saying that it is bad and quarentines it.

I just noticed the 404 error, it's a problem with the servers or the download path and will be solved as soon as the devs see it. As for the false positive, it's a known problem with Norton, but I assure that there's no virus in the files (tested with many other antivirus); it's Norton that is kinda bad at the moment.

This error is relative to the Microsoft directX. Before you do anything, try to reinstall directX.

Recerco is right, in particular, try to download and install the DirectX Redistributable from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109, it has worked for other games that gave a similar error message on my PC.
