Login in not working

Hey guys,

I was a beta 1 participant. Having downloaded the new client and trying to login the game didn't recognise me so I had to set up new login details by registering again. My original username and email address were available so i guess my beta 1 account got deleted somehow. Anyway thats not the main issue.

I can use my information to login to these forums but upon starting the client and trying to log in there it does not recognise me and returns an incorrect username or password error. So basically while I can log into the forums with my new account details I cannot get into the game. I have tried both my Nickname and email as user and combinations of my new and old passwords but nothing is working, Any suggestions?

Hi there!

Regarding your beta1 account you're right: it got deleted as every other account; on beta2 we all started again from level 1 and progresses were lost, due to huge changes to market, game etc.

On the other hand, it's a strange issue since the login informations should work with both game and forum, as are mine. Did you check any activation mail? Standard procedure: try again or double check caps lock, but i guess that's not the problem. If there's a problem with registration, then we should wait some devs to answer!

It's not a cap locks thing. I haven't received any activation email so maybe thats the problem although i am posting here so i didn't think there was an activation step involved. yeah maybe the devs can shed some light.

I read somewhere that players involved in beta 1 get a boost in beta 2 with in game currency but if they deleted my entire account (not just reset my account to level 1) and I had to re-register how can they link me to my old account to credit me?

Sounds like the game can't contact the login server.  In the game directory, there's a log file called "numen.log".  Either upload that to support http://victorythegame.com/support/technical-support or post the next few lines after the line that says "WinMessage: Login".  If the login was normal, it will say "Login response" on the next line, then "connectig", then "connected".

The credit boost you noticed was awarded for the transition from "beta 2.1" to "beta 2.2"; in the middle of beta2 they released an update wihich changed completely the PP system, the market and the economy in general, so they had to reset cars and accounts. But since that was the second reset, they awarded some credit for those who levelled up again in beta2 before the second wipe; there was no award for being a beta1 player :)

I agree with Cagey about your problem: send or post that part of the file, so we can help you a little more!

well, there is nomore an activation mail, now your account is getting activated as soon as you do the registration on the forum.

I checked your account and yes, is active and should work properly, I couldn't see any issues there.

Try again, please, and remember that the mail is nomore working for the login on the game: just use your username and password and capital letters, ofc. :)

I am using the same username and password i use for logging into the forums, but as it's failing i tried several different combinations of caps/ no caps etc. nothing works....

Wait i just tried again and it's let me in. not sure what changed but happy days :)

i wish this worked for me, but it hasn't.  i found and looked at my numen log and i'm having the exact same issue.  have closed the launcher completely and restarted the game many times now.  am i missing something?

 

i appears that using my email was possibly causing the issue.  when i logged in using my driver name, it worked fine.  strange...

Login fail. It ask for username or email, I use "username" and the correct password (99.9% sure of this).
Message: Wrong username or password.

I use the function to reset the password. I received the email for 1-day temp login to change the password (I alredy are logged in the site, cookie/browser autologin worked for me).

In the email you say something like "go to your account and change password"

1) Why I'm not pointed direct to Account page (a dedicated change password form is preferable for me)?

2) I write password and repeat password, then click "Save":
Your current password is missing or incorrect; it's required to change the Password. 
I'm here 'cause I DO NOT REMEMBER IT (old password input field was obviously empty).

Did I do something wrong?

 

 

 

I just reset my password and it worked like a charm.

1- Log off from your account

2- Click on reset password and follow the instructions

3- You will receive an email that will point you to page with a login button. You don't have to enter anything, just click on that button.

4- Write your new password in the two fields you'll find in the account page and save it.

You're done.

As  I say: "I'm alredy logged in the site, cookie/browser auto-login worked for me". I mean password-helper of browsers (I use Maxthon).

Today I open the site (by google "victory game") and I'm not auto-logged (I logged out yesterday? I do not remember...).
I open the email for password reset and I use the 24-hours link. It point me in the correct page, the one with message and "log in" button, and then to the dedicated page for change the password.
Perfect.

Ok, I changed the password. Now I'm logged in the site. I re-use the link above (24 hours link) and this time I am pointed in the home page. I click "Account" and then "Edit account". Here I see "old password" (empty), new password, repeat password ...it is the situation I explained in previous comment.

This situation is caused by some conditions

1) Fail to login (you forgot password)
2) auto-login in browser and already logged in the site
3) Use the "Reset password" procedure as I did...

I think it is a possible scenario (a common one?)
This is my analysis, if I'm wrong, sorry.

Another "strange" behavior.
I'm currently (in the same browser instance) logged in "http://victorythegame.com/comment/reply/487/4495" 
AND I'm NOT logged in "https://victorythegame.com/comment/reply/487/4495"
(I try to refresh the HTTPS page, but I'm already not logged in).

I'm a web developer, this is strange behavior, login cookie are not "shared" by HTTP and HTTPS ?

Sorry but you lost me there. I don't know about point 2 so I'll leave it to the devs, but I still don't understand exactly what happens once you reset your password. You said you managed to change your password and you even find yourself logged in, which means now you know your password and you can use your account freely, unless I'm missing the whole point. Why would you want to use the 24h link again anyway? 

Can you log into the game as usual?

Yes, question #2 is a "developer" argument (but related to my case and to "wrong password", and if confirmed I do not think a new post is necessary).

Hi guys just D/L game . All patches updated. But cannot login . On puting name and password in, message says Generic Error!

Hi I gave up after hundreds of attempts to login to the game. It is telling m wrong user name and password. I have logged in using every format possible all caps, no caps, caps and LC password etc. Still cannot get past this damn message . Please can you fix this or tell me how to work around it. Did you also try putting the email you used for registering your account in the username field? If things keep going wrong, you should also try changing your password or even asking for a rest of the password.

It would not allow email address the @ button doesn't work on your game also it is longer than 15 characters. I have reset password. also uninstalled reinstalled. every step you can follow at least 30 times each. So I guess it must be something in the program that has never been fixed. This will be the last time I try to get this sorted. it has been going on for months and tbh I am fed up with the disappointment of not being able to play.  mean hnestly how hard is it to get a login screen to work.

I can log in with no problems by using the e-mail address and the @ is working fine for me: the restriction of 15 characters max is related to an username, not to the e-mail.

When you reported the issue, we discovered a problem related to the languages for all the new user accounts and it got fixed, as the others could login with nomore problems.

Sadly I can't help you more at moment, since it's week-end time: I'll report it on monday morning and we will try to get things sorted.

Alexa, it was finally solved ;)

He's got a UK keyboard and for some reasons the @ wasn't showing up with the usual combo of buttons. He managed now.
