On the launcher it says: Cannot connect to server..Help someone??? Its my first time playing too. I wanted to play before but it was closed beta. EVERYTHING HELPS. Nothing to do with connection and I just downloaded the game 2 minutes ago. My internet connection is broadband and it's connected.

I had the same problem last night. I uninstalled my last window updates & it works again. Im not saying it is the same for you but I only got that error after I updated my pc.

I didn't understand if you had the possibility to update the client or not; meanwhile, try looking at this topic, if it's not the problem we can wait for the devs to answer.
As M3Honsho said, couldn't understand if you were able to download the game or not.
Anyway, if you get that message error should be your firewall blocking the ports.
